The boys are doing well. Wednesday night Marc and I got to go to the movies and Aunt Meg Meg and Aunt Lou Lou came to watch them. They had a hay day! When I got home Ethan gave me his first kiss without prompting. It melted my heart. Aunt Lou Lou said she had gotten one too. How cute. Thursday afternoon and Friday morning Grandma and Grandpa Rhodes came to visit. The boys love having them here. Friday night Daddy ended up having to work, so the boys and I went down to the Sellers' house for dinner. Aaron started crying a little while after we got there and just wouldn't stop. We came home and I was trying to put them both to bed and Aaron got so worked up he vomited all over me and his bedroom floor. Marc and I have tried to clean the carpet to no avail. It looks like renting a carpet cleaner is in our future. We dealt with formula vomit for months due to the boys' reflux, but I have to tell you whole milk is so much worse. Yuck! Looks like we are going to have to rent a carpet cleaner.
We think A and E's fussiness is due to teething. Their top two front teeth, if not four, seem to be coming in. That has been affecting their temperament as well as their sleeping habits lately. Late last week both Ethan and Aaron decided that walking was better than crawling. I would say they walk 80% of the time as opposed to crawling now. Every once in awhile they decide crawling will be faster, especially if they fall down and want to keep going quickly. Marc and I took the boys to Menards and Sam's Club Sunday afternoon. Aaron held one of Marc's fingers and walked all over the store. Daddy and A both loved it! We also took them outside on the deck and walked them around. It was so nice Sunday! It has been in the mid to high 50's the past few days. To bad it has been rainy overall too, no complaining though! We didn't take them in the yard because it was really wet from all of the snow melting and they had their nice clothes on from church. Speaking of church, their wasn't anyone in the nursery on Sunday so the boys went to the walkers/toddler room for the first time. I probably would have waited a bit longer, until the get a little more secure on their feet but they had a good time. Ethan was all about playing with the other kids. One of the teachers had to take Aaron aside and play with him because he was being shy.
Yesterday was my day out. For those of you who don't know, on Tuesdays we have a sitter that comes for six hours and allows me to get out of the house for a bit. Her name is Miss Abigail. She does a wonderful job with the boys. I started going to pilates about a month ago, so yesterday I went and then went to volunteer at Third Phase for the first time since prior to the boys being born. It was a really nice day. I really feel like I am getting a bit of balance back in my life again. For those of you who have children, you know it is quite a balancing act. When I got home, our neighbors Vanessa and Landon came down to play with the boys. Aaron was all about playing with Landon. It is neat to see the boys really starting to get interested in playing with other kids around their age. They have enjoyed older kids for awhile. Today my friend Katie's kids, Ava and Landon, are coming over and I will be watching them for the afternoon. We should have a fun, busy day!
