Blessings

There were a few things I failed to mention in my most recent post. First Marc is completely well from the Bell's Palsy symptoms he had. They lasted a long and yucky month, but thankfully left after that. Also, the first of the year was quite hard with illness and the financial strains that ensue with that. Marc is such a hard worker and good provider. Just when we were thinking of possibly downsizing or my getting a part time job, Marc was given a promotion and raise. We are so, so blessed! I am so thankful for every one's prayers and God's wonderful provision.

Spring has Sprung

Time flies! Thankfully spring is here and Ethan, Aaron, and I are enjoying it to the fullest.

February
-2/8/10: E&A got their second set of tubes.
-2/9/10: E&A had allergy testing done. Several little pricks to the back with the result of no reactions/no allergies!
-2/22/10: The boys had blood work done for the first time. Three vials each to look at their titres and whether the built antibodies to the immunizations that they were given.
-Several play dates with Piper, McKenna, Terra, Jessica, and Adeline

March
-3/2/10: Both see ENT for follow appointment after have their new tubes placed. Both have to continue to have their ears treated with drops. Aaron had a sinus infection as well as a plugged tube. Ethan ends up going on an antibiotic for a sinus infection soon after.
-3/15/10: ENT Appointment
-3/4/10: Play date with friends from church.
-3/9/10: Visit Mamaw, Papaw, Granny, and Poppy.
-3/11/10: Visit the Children's Museum with friends and had lunch with Daddy.
-3/15/10: Play date with friends
-3/18/10: The boys return to the allergist/immunologist and receive the pneum0coccal vaccine again. The blood work showed that they did not build the antibodies to that particular vaccination. They will get blood work redone in 4 to 6 weeks to ensure they built the antibodies. The immunologist felt that this could be a strong reason why they have been having all of the sinus and ear infections sense the vaccination is for 23 different bacterias.
-3/23/10: Visit Mamaw, Papaw, Granny, and Poppy.
-3/25/10: Went to a local nursing home to inquire about the boys and I volunteering.
-3/30/10: E, A, & I went to the nursing home to visit during music time. Both boys are a bit shy about going, but I am sure will ease in to it as time goes by. We plan to visit every other Tuesday.
-3/31/10: My first parent teacher conference for the boys. The teacher said that they were smart young men. She felt that she was not truly able to evaluate all that they knew because they respond better to the teacher's assistant, Ms. Lisa. She said that they play and share well with each other and the only issue they really ever have is when they sometimes argue with each other (over a toy, etc.).

Spring break started for the boys last Friday and Marc traveled for work last week from Wed-Friday to D.C. Since we had some free time, we decided to spend they night with Mamaw and Papaw Thursday and Friday night. The boys had a great time and got to see Granny, Poppy, their cousins Riley and Reese, and some of my friend's kids from high school (they are neighbors with my parents). Friday during the day Mom and Dad took us to the Newport Aquarium. It was amazing and the boys were in love with all of the sea life, turtles, snakes, and so on. We actually ended up getting a pass so that Marc could go back with the boys and I later. The Easter bunny also visited our house last week. I will post some pictures of the boys' Easter Egg Hunt later today. Aunt Lou came over after church for the hunt and for lunch. The remainder of the day was spent outside enjoying the beautiful weather and playing in the yard.

This week in keeping with my effort to enjoy every moment of the gorgeous weather and Spring Break we have done a lot of fun things. Monday we went to the zoo with our neighbors and friends, the Lotters! The animals were so active. The boys loved all of the animals. They have grown up so much lately. Sometime within the last few months I stopped taking in their stroller to pick them up from Mother's Day Out. They walk everywhere now (holding mommy's hand). When we went to the Children's Museum in March they walked the whole time. At the zoo Monday, we were completely stroller free again! Tuesday we took the wagon to the creek and then to a small playground nearby with our neighbors, the Sellers. It was E & A's first experience gathering rocks to throw in the creek. Yesterday I decided we needed to head to the pediatrician's walk in hours. Ethan's ear had been draining off and on for thirteen days and both boys had colds. Fortunately the doctor wrote them a script, but said not to use it unless their snot stays green consistently (both were 28lbs). I am praying that they will get over it on their own! On the way home from the peds office, Aaron threw up. I have no idea why. That put the nix on our trip to Forest Park, so we stayed home and played outside. The neighbor boys Christian and Cole came out and played with E & A. E & A think that they walk on water. The also adore their older brother Chandler. Aaron seemed fine until we were eating dinner and then he threw up again. He must have a little bug. So far today no getting sick, but he seems moppie and tired. We went to story time with the Lotter's this morning and then the boys went down for an early nap after lunch. I am not sure what we will do tomorrow. It has cooled down quite a bit and I am not sure how the boys will be feeling.

Aaron and Ethan are such a joy! They honestly are well behaved, good mannered, and kind hearted young men...the majority of the time. It is so fulfilling to share in their new adventures, laughter and giggles, cuddles, and kisses. The thank yous as a parent are often infrequent, but when people comment on how well behaved they are that is a confirmation that feels so good. Twice or more this week people have commented on the boys. I am so proud of them! It makes me sad to see them growing up so quickly, but it is exciting to think about the men they will be some day!
