Unfortunately I haven't been keeping up with the blog quite as much as I had hoped, but it is being updated and that was the goal. Things are going well. The boys finished their antibiotic a little over a week ago and so far so good.

Last week daddy was at Disney. We had a great time with Grammy (Grandma Smith) and Grandma Kay and Grandpa Dick. We aren't sure if Grammy is going to be the name that sticks, we think the boys may be taking to Nanna. Fortunately Grammy/Nanna doesn't mind what the boys call her. It was so nice to be able to get some projects done around the house. I cleaned and organized the laundry room, pantry, spare bedroom, boys' room, and Marc and I's room. I really appreciated my mom, Dick, and Kay's help. Even though none of the grandparents live closer than an hour away, it is nice that they are all within driving distance. This next weekend we are heading up to Grandma and Grandpa Rhodes. The boys will get to go on their first pontoon ride!

This week was such a nice week. We had rain, but a good bit of sunshine too. The temperatures were great as well. We played outside and went on a number of walks. We have transitioned to the tandem stroller (front and back) this week instead of the side by side. The boys had gotten to a point where they just couldn't keep their hands to themselves. They seem to like it better and do a lot less fighting this way. Friday we went to Holland Park and then to McDonalds. It was the boys' first trip to McDonalds and they shared a cheeseburger. Believe it or not I actually got teary eyed. I know...crazy hormonal mom. I was just overwhelmed by the joy of being able to share in all the firsts, what a fun state the boys are at, and just how much I love them! We get together with our neighbor Vanessa and their boys, Landon and Luke, almost daily. It is so nice to have great neighbors!

Today Poppy and Grandma Cheryl stopped by for a little while. It was so nice to see them. I know the boys loved it. Prior we went to church. E and A weren't real sure and both cried when we tried to leave them in their class. I ended up staying with them and it was good that I did because their was only one adult. This will be something we will have to work on though. Currently the only time I leave them is in our home. They stayed home with Daddy through much of the winter do to colds and germs, so they will have to ease back into going and they are at a totally different age.

A started getting his 7th tooth a few days ago. The boys both now have seven teeth. A's 7th is the tooth to the left of his bottom two front teeth and E's is to the right. E took to climbing on a chair we had in the kitchen and an ottoman last week. I have since removed them from the kitchen and living room. A only got up on them a couple of times. So far E is the monkey of the two. A on the other hand will sit and focus on puzzles or blocks for some time. Within the last few weeks E and A started playing with puzzles and after a few days to a week they were able to put the puzzles pieces in the appropriate slots.

Well if I want to get anything else accomplished or relax prior to the boys getting up from nap, I better get to it.

16 Months Today!

It is so hard to believe that they will be a 1 1/2 soon. Where does the time go? They gave up their morning bottle a couple of weeks ago. They only take a bottle before bed now. I know, I know we are taking are time. We will eliminate the last bottle soon and I promise they won't be carrying around a bottle when they go to kindergarten! :)

Marc will be gone this next week for work. Who knows, maybe we will eliminate it then. Marc doesn't like to make the boys sad, so this would keep him from that. Fortunately my mom is coming for part of the week and Marc's mom and step dad will be here for the remainder! Weeks without daddy are tough!

Ethan's 7th tooth (the bottom one to the right of his two front teeth) broke through on Tuesday! Currently Aaron has 6. He just recently got the sixth. They have been getting them at the same time, but Ethan's have been a bit quicker except for the first two. Their one year molars are working on coming in too. They haven't broken through their gums yet though.

A week ago Monday we had to make a trip to the peds office. A woke up with a swollen right eye. He was also dealing with a horrible cough (that required the inhaler again) and ear infection. The pediatrician thinks that the boys both have allergies. They are taking Zyrtec daily. This past Monday we ended up at the peds office again. This time for E. A got put on a second antibiotic because his right ear was draining again after seven days of omnicef. E had a right ear infection this time, so they are both on augmentin right now. I am hoping this is the last of the ear infections for the season!

The boys are in a really fun stage. They enjoy playing together, going outside, going for walks, etc. The weather was so nice over the weekend and earlier this week. We played outside on the play set for sometime after church on Sunday. The boys loved it. Monday night we went to Forest Park in Noblesville after daddy got home from work. It is a great park with lots of fun things for toddlers. The boys got good and dirty!

They are also in a bit of a trying stage. A bit E for the first time on the cheek Tuesday afternoon. He bit me on the arm last week, so I knew it was only a matter of time. E on the other hand scratched A on the neck yesterday afternoon. We have put one of the pack in plays in the living room and the other in the play room and have started one minute time outs. We haven't had to do it a lot yet. What do I mean we? I have done all of the time outs so far. Marc doesn't like to have to discipline. He is such a good daddy. He even thinks it is cute when A stops his feet when he is mad. Recently A has taken to stopping his feet and crying when he gets mad. Its interesting to see how the boys personalities are coming out. E has been a bit clingier lately (possibly due to being sick and teething) and A is starting to be a little more independent at home. Which is a bit of a flip. E tends to be out going in public and Aaron a bit on the shy side.

It has been so fun to start to put the boys in summer clothes. They look adorable! Grammy (Grandma Smith) got them some really cute mickey mouse crocs. Today with the cooler weather they are wearing sweat pants and hoodies that Grandma Kay got them at a really neat children's clothing store. They are such handsome little men!

And so the story goes...

It has been quite sometime since I have posted. Not completely sure why other than life has been pretty much status quo. The boys and Marc had a stomach virus and I am so glad to have that out of the house. The boys have a head cold right now, but I am hoping it is on its way out as well. Cold and flu season is almost over. I am so excited that Spring is here. It is supposed to be 65 tomorrow and 70 on Friday! Hooray!

The boys had a nice Easter. Saturday my parents and my mom's parents came up to go to lunch. We did a little Easter egg hunt. I wasn't sure how the boys would do. They actually did quite well. Marc and I carried their baskets and they picked up the eggs and placed them in. Sunday we went to church. The boys are in the walkers class now with walkers-3 year olds.

We had a lunch date with Daddy on Monday. The boys were so surprised and excited to see Marc during the middle of the day. They were very well behaved at the restaurant. Last week we went to lunch with my mom on her birthday and they did quite well that afternoon as well.

Today we ventured out to the grocery store. I was a little nervous going into it, but decided if it didn't work out we didn't have to go again. Ethan sat in the seat and Aaron sat in the cart itself. They did great! I was so proud of them. They were surrounded by groceries by the end of the trip! I think they enjoy getting out and seeing new things.

Both the boys are growing and developing right before our eyes. It has been a couple weeks since their 15 month appointment, but here were the stats. E weighed 21 lbs and 8 ozs and was 31.75'' tall. A was 22 lbs and 5 ozs and 32''. They weighed a bit less than the last time they were weighed because it was without their shoes and clothes and they had just started eating again after having the stomach flu. For weight E and A were in the 15th and 20th percentiles and for height they were in the 68th and 75th percentiles respectively. That is for babies born at the same time as they were, not preemies. They obviously are taking their height from their father!

Milestones
-walking, practically running these days
-climbs stairs
-love pushing things and rearranging the furniture
-take blocks apart and put them together-love looking at books and turning the pages
-drink from sippies with straws
-can say momma, dada, ball, duck, dog, no, hi, and bye (and maybe some other words)
-can sign more, milk, hi, and bye
-Aaron puts his arms out palms up when he wants you to pick him up
-can bring their shoes and other items to you upon request
-want what the other has most of the time and have started pushing each other
-still taking two naps most days

Tomorrow we have a play date with some friends in the morning. Then Grandma Kay and Great Grandma Rhodes are coming for a visit in the afternoon. Friday afternoon we are thinking of going to the zoo.

Outdoor Fun

Yesterday was Tuesday, the day Miss Abigail comes. Unfortunately the boys were not up for mommy leaving. They were mad about their ear drops and just got more mad when Abigail arrived. They completely understand that when Abigail comes, mommy is leaving. Generally I just let all of us tough the situation out and they calm down within a few minutes of me leaving. Yesterday they just seemed distraught so I told Miss Abigail I would just stay home with them and she could go and enjoy the lovely weather.

They took a couple hour nap and thankfully were in better moods following. The past three afternoons we have got to go outside and enjoy the lovely weather. We've been swinging, going for walks, playing with the neighbor kids, and so on. I'll post some pictures of our outdoor fun soon.
